Dr. LaVerne Hanes Collins is a nationally recognized counselor, educator, author, and speaker whose work bridges mental health, multicultural competence, and leadership development. With more than 30 years of professional experience, Dr. Collins has trained and mentored thousands of clinicians and organizational leaders through continuing education, clinical supervision, and multicultural consulting. Her approach integrates cultural humility, faith, and evidence-based practices to promote healing, growth, and equity across personal, professional, and institutional levels.
Dr. Collins is the author of Overlooked: Counselor Insights for the Unspoken Issues in Black American Life and The Fruit of Your Pain: Experiencing Spiritual Renewal Through Seasons of Struggle. Her thought leadership has been featured in The US Times, USA Leaders, The Women’s Insider, The CEO Times, and many other outlets.
As a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and professional counselor who holds licensure in four states, she brings both clinical and academic expertise to her role, ensuring that all New Seasons programs meet professional, ethical, and multicultural standards of excellence.
